Jeff Tweedy, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Khruangbin and Violent Femmes are among the acts set to perform at THING. The inaugural THING festival will take place at Fort Worden in Port Townshend, Washington August 24 – 25.
De La Soul, Café Tacvba, Calexico and Iron & Wine, Tank and the Bangas, Parquet Courts, Phosphorescent, Makaya McCraven and Ryley Walker are more of the musical acts on the lineup for the new event. THING organizer Adam Zacks of Seattle Theatre Group (STG) founded and produced the Sasquatch! Music Festival over the course of its 17-year run.
In addition to music, THING will host comedians, podcasters, visual artists, dance troupes and local food vendors. The event will feature three primary stages including a decommissioned zeppelin hanger, an intimate art-deco theater and parade grounds over looking Puget Sound.
