Dave Matthews Band Kicks Off 2019 Summer Tour With Pensacola Debut

135

Dave Matthews Band played their first ever show in Pensacola, Florida last night as they opened this year’s summer tour. The septet’s Monday night concert at the Pensacola Bay Center mixed beloved favorites from the back catalog with a handful of tunes from 2018’s Come Tomorrow, a few recently busted out gems and a Peter Gabriel cover.

“One Sweet World” was the choice to begin a tour that runs through September. “Grey Street” was the first in a series of fan-favorites fit into the setlist that also included “Too Much,” “#41,” “Dancing Nancies,” “Stay (Wasting Time),” “The Space Between,” “Everyday,” “Ants Marching” and “The Best Of What’s Around.” Come Tomorrow was represented on Monday by “Do You Remember,” “Here On Out,” “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)” and “She.” The rare “Raven” also made the cut as did the year’s first “Shake Me Like A Monkey,” which brought the concert to a close. DMB continues the tour tonight in Jacksonville.
