Tedeschi Trucks Band & Los Lobos Collaborate In Sacramento

129

The Tedeschi Trucks Band was supported by Los Lobos on Tuesday, which led to a number of collaborations during the TTB’s set. Last night’s concert took place at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California.

Susan Tedeschi thanked Los Lobos and called them “our favorite band” before the Tedeschi Trucks Band launched into “Laugh About It.” The TTB then worked their own “Don’t Know What It Means” into “The Letter” before a run of “When Will I Begin” and “Part Of Me.” Next up was a series of covers starting with Bob Dylan’s “Down In The Flood,” continuing with Derek & The Dominos’ “Keep On Growing” and ending with Willie Nelson’s “Somebody Pick Up My Pieces.”

After a performance of “Signs, Hard Times,” Tedeschi brought out Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos for “The Sky Is Crying.” Then, Los Lobos’ David Hidalgo and Steve Berlin both contributed to a 15-minute pairing of “Leavin’ Trunk” and “Volunteer Slavery.” The set ended with powerful performances of “Shame” and “Midnight In Harlem.” Susan asked the crowd to let those stand and dance who wanted to do so ahead of the cover of “Show Me” by Joe Tex that began the encore. Last night’s concert concluded with a celebratory “Let’s Go Gt Stoned.”
