Umphrey’s McGee has issued a save the date warning for an upcoming performance at Chicago, IL’s Lakefront Green, set for Saturday, August 10th, 2019. Although the band formed in nearby South Bend, IN, the band cut their teeth in Chicago and claims the Windy City as their home.
The band announced that more details are expected to arrive on Monday, June 3rd. The show at Lakefront Green marks Umphrey’s first show back in Chicago since their appearance at The Big Weekend in October 2018.
The band issued the soft announce of the Chicago show as tickets to their RÖCKJAVIK Iceland Residency went on sale on Wednesday. Due to issues with the ticketing system, the ticket window was moved to tomorrow (Thursday) at 10 a.m. Central Time.
The new show announcement comes on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that longtime lighting designer Jefferson Waful will part ways with the band at the end of this year.
Next up for Umphrey’s is a performance at Birmingham, AL’s Avondale Brewing Company on Thursday, May 30th.
