On Saturday, Trey Anastasio Band closed out their four-night southeastern run with their second performance of the weekend at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA.

Trey Anastasio and company opened up their first set with “Sometime After Sunset”, which was followed up by “Pigtail”. Trey laid down a series of celebratory guitar licks, backed by some tenacious horn work from James Casey, Natalie Cressman, and Jennifer Hartswick. A roaring “Alaska” was up next, followed by spirited renditions of “Curlew’s Call”, “Dark and Down”, “Heavy Things”, and “Burlap Sack and Pumps”. TAB let it rip with “46 Days”, marking the longest jam of the set, followed by “Rise/Come Together” to round out the first set.

The second set got underway with “Simple Twist Up Dave”, followed by “Sand”, “Valentine”, “Plasma”, and “Tuesday”. The show continued on with “Spin” and “Drifting”, with the former played for the first time since TAB’s 2017 west coast fall run in Oakland.  As Trey has slowly started to do with TAB, the band unveiled a tender debut of “Friend”, a song off of Anastasio’s recent Ghosts of the Forest release. Trey Anastasio Band rounded out their second frame with an exploratory “Ghosts”, highlighted by a series of gritty, peaking guitar solos. Trey returned to the stage solo to offer up acoustic renditions of “Brian and Robert” and “More” before inviting the band back up to properly close the show with a raucous “First Tube”.
