On what would have been Jerry Garcia‘s 77th birthday, August 1st, an all-star cast of musicians will gather at Los Angeles’ Wisdome for a special tribute concert dubbed “Jerry In The Dome”.
Jerry In The Dome will feature The Meters bassist George Porter Jr., guitarist Steve Kimock, Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, and Tony Hall, DJ Logic, members of The Funky Meters, and Southern California-based Grateful Dead tribute act Jerry’s Middle Finger. The tribute concert will take attendees on an immersive journey into the realm of a shared Virtual Reality experience with mind blowing visuals, customized 360 projections of Jerry’s artwork, and a surround sound system.
The event will open up with a special pre-party, which will include a set by DJ Logic and an informal meet and greet with the artists, followed by the annual Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies. This year’s screening will feature the Dead’s performance from Giants Stadium on June 17th. 1991.
