The Claypool Lennon Delirium‘s Sean Ono Lennon and Les Claypool have enjoyed embracing the weird, unusual sides of their creative minds since launching the rock band in 2016. So it comes as no surprise that the duo’s latest music video for “Little Fishies” gives viewers a wonderfully colorful and psychedelic experience.

Shared on Thursday, the six-minute video for the single off the band’s 2019 South of Reality studio LP presents viewers with an exciting plethora of majestic colors and imagery with psychedelic-inspired animation worthy of the band’s equally-captivating music. Rather than just throwing a jumbled mess of color and morphing imagery, the video’s somewhat chaotic presentation is kept together by a structured storyline, as the visuals are connected to the song’s lyrics to allow for a somewhat grounded experience.
The mastermind behind the new video is animator Micah Buzan, who’s past work includes creating tour visual for Incubus and music videos for The Flaming Lips, to name a few.

“I’ve had the intro vocal and melody for ‘Little Fishes’ kicking around in my head for many years,” Claypool said in a statement of the visual masterpiece. “When Sean and I started working on the new record, I knew it would be perfect to develop and to add to the Delirium repertoire. Little did I know that Micah would take that music and put such mind-bending, warped animation to it. It reinforces my enjoyment and constant amazement of how immensely creative people sometimes interpret my words and music. Bravo.”
The band just started on a run of tour dates alongside The Flaming Lips, which continues throughout the remainder of July and into early August. Upcoming shows on the two psychedelic-friendly rock band’s tour schedule include performances at Indianapolis, IN’s Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Parkin on July 26th, and Lewiston, NY’s Artpark Amphitheater on July 27th.
