The Rolling Stones Reschedule New Orleans Performance (Again) Due To Tropical Storm Barry

The Rolling Stones have been forced to push back their already-rescheduled performance at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA on Sunday, due to the serious weather threatening the area over the next few days.

The performance, which was scheduled for Sunday, July 14th, will now take place at New Orleans’ covered football stadium on Monday, July 15th. The announcement on Friday morning comes amidst the coming Tropical Storm Barry which is reportedly expected to make landfall on the Louisiana city on Saturday as a Category 1 hurricane. The storm is threatening to unload up to 20-inches of rain on the city and surrounding areas, making for a potentially scary scenario after the well-known fallout from infamous Hurricane Katrina back in the fall of 2005.

Tickets to the initially-rescheduled July 14th performance will be honored at the new date, assuming the band is still able to perform following the storm’s landing over the weekend.

The upcoming show as part of the famous rock band’s return to North America on their No Filter Tour this summer had already been rescheduled once to make up for the missed Jazz Fest performance after singer Mick Jagger was forced to undergo heart surgery back in the spring. The band returned to action to start their tour last month with an opening performance at Chicago’s Soldier Field on June 21st.

Head to the Rolling Stones’ website for tickets and tour info.
