Welcome To Rockville will have a new home when the multi-day rock music festival returns next spring.
Announced on Monday, Welcome To Rockville will move to the massive Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, FL on May 8th-10th in 2020. The event has taken place at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL for the past nine years since it launched in 2011.

A statement shared by event producer Danny Wimmer to go with the location change announcement on Monday reads:
“Welcome To Rockville might be leaving Jacksonville, but I’m not leaving Jacksonville behind. This is where it all began – not just for Rockville, but for me. I love my hometown, and I’m really proud of what Rockville accomplished in its nine years in Jacksonville. Unfortunately, there was no longer a space at Metropolitan Park for us to deliver the kind of festival experience that Florida’s rock fans deserve. I’m excited to have a larger site to work with that allows us the room to continue growing the festival experience. I hope all of our Jacksonville friends will join us in this next phase of Welcome To Rockville’s evolution.”
The event reportedly welcomes over 90,000 attendees to the Jacksonville area when it takes place in the coastal Florida city each spring, making it difficult for the mid-sized market’s infrastructure to handle the enormous growth in temporary population. The Daytona International Speedway also recently underwent $400 million in structural renovations, allowing for the necessary improvements throughout the location to welcome the tens-of-thousands of music fans with ease come next spring
Track President Chip Wile also commented on the festival’s new home in stating, “The facility is home to motorsports’ biggest events, and we’re excited to add this major music festival to our event calendar. The facility provides all the amenities and camping needs for guests while they enjoy a star-studded music lineup, all with the ‘World Center of Racing’ serving as the backdrop.”
The 2019 edition of the event featured performances from notable rock artists including Korn, Tool, Rob Zombie, Incubus, The Prodigy and Shinedown, just to name a few.
