Portland-based folk outfit Shook Twins—fronted by twin sisters Katelyn and Laurie Shook—have announced an upcoming Halloween run of shows where they will perform songs from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. Denver soul/R&B six-piece Mama Magnolia will handle the opening duties throughout the run.
Shook Twins shared their thoughts on the Halloween run. They explained,
One of our favorite movies growing up was ‘Dirty Dancing’. That was the first time we experienced sexy soul music and the dancing that went with that emotion.
During this Halloween run, we’ve chosen our favorite handful of songs from the beloved soundtrack and we’ll be splicing them into a dance worthy Shook Twins set.
Shook Twins will open their run with a performance at Colorado Springs, CO’s Stargazers Theatre & Event Center on October 24th, followed by stops at Boulder, CO’s Fox Theatre (10/26); Fort Collins, CO’s Aggie Theatre (10/27); Salt Lake City, UT’s State Room (10/30); Boise, ID’s Olympic Venue (10/31); Bend, OR’s Domino Room (11/1); Ashland, OR’s Ashland Armory (11/2); and Eugene, OR’s WOW Hall on November 3rd.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 16th at 10 a.m. local time here.
