Danner Celebrates Four Decades of Gore-Tex With Rugged 40th Anniversary Edition Boots

It’s not unusual for outerwear brands like Carhartt or Canada Goose to incorporate Gore-Tex into new releases, but Danner was the first bolster boots with the water-resistant material way back in 1978.

To celebrate over four decades of Gore-Tex use, the Oregon-based footwear company dropped the ultra-rugged Danner Light 40th Anniversary Edition.

Each six-inch boot boasts a breathable Gore-Tex liner that keeps water out on wet treks while allowing sweat to escape. This, in combination with a cushioning three-layer footbed, ensures maximum heat dissipation and air circulation.

Additionally, the Danner Light’s upper is made from a combination of full-grain leather and 1000 Denier nylon for a durable construction. A Vibram Megagrip outsole provides traction and stability on virtually any surface, while the reinforced heel handily absorbs even the nastiest shocks.

Danner proudly promises that all its boots are manufactured from top to bottom at its Portland factory. Anyone from the amateur adventurer to the seasoned outdoorsman can cop a pair of the Danner Light 40th Anniversary Edition boots in a black or timber colorway for $390 online
