North Korean state media say Typhoon Lingling has left five people dead and three injured after battering the country. It’s the North’s first official disclosure of casualties since the storm made landfall in the country on Saturday. The North’s official Korean Central News Agency said Sunday that the typhoon left 460 houses and 15 public buildings destroyed, damaged or inundated.
