You saw Sofia Resing on the 2019 Maxim Hot 100—now it’s time to get better acquainted with this rising model.
Just two days ago, the Brazilian beauty was busy organizing and managing a New York Fashion Week show at the Style360 stage for Mery Playa, Resing’s burgeoning swimsuit brand. Even so, she was kind enough to squeeze in a few words with Maxim.
“From designing each piece to tailoring each piece, picking details from hardware to fabrics, as well as fitting and casting all of the models, putting looks together, directing the show, working on the guest list…it is months of work compressed into 10 minutes.”
Of course, she herself has walked as a model in plenty of global shows for couture gods like Giorgio Armani and esteemed designers like Zuhair Murad. But watching her own pieces come to life on the runway is what really makes Resing tick.
“Walking a show it is very exciting, but to me there is no comparison to seeing your own vision brought to life on all of these beautiful models. It is extremely rewarding to be on the other side of things.”

A man who observes and has tranquility in his eyes.

If I am giving him my time, he should know I am interested.

It’s about who you’re with, not where you are.

I observe his attitude towards life in general. Virtues are what makes a man.
When do you feel sexiest?
When I am happy and proud of myself and my accomplishments.
Who’s your biggest celebrity crush?
Queen B with no doubt. What a woman and an inspiration!
What’s on your favorite music playlist?
I really love Brazilian music, from bossa nova to funk to samba rock. I love Latin music in general and 90s hip-hop.
What fashion brands do you like the best?
As a big fashion lover, I have a really big list of brands I love and support, but I have to say that my stylist Kristina Askerova always finds the best newcomer brands before anyone knows them. I like to be unique.
What’s your favorite meal?
Everyone who knows me knows I love to eat! But I guess my favorites are Japanese and Italian food. Sometimes I crave Brazilian food, too.
Lastly, what’s your guiltiest pleasure?
I love pao de queijo. It’s the best Brazilian food ever invented!
