Hiss Golden Messenger, the project led by singer-songwriter M.C. Taylor, swung through Seattle’s KEXP studios on October 11 to perform for the station’s live music video series. Taylor and company played songs from HGM’s 2019 album Terms Of Surrender.
Hiss Golden Messenger fittingly kicked off the session with the album’s opening song, “I Need A Teacher.” Taylor and the band continued with some of the record’s deeper tracks in “Down At The Uptown” and “Bright Direction (You’re A Dark Star Now).” Hiss Golden Messenger wrapped up their KEXP performance with the LP’s title track.
