Andrew Bird swung through Seattle’s KEXP studios in October 2019 to perform for the radio station’s live music video series. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist delivered four songs from his 2019 album My Finest Work Yet.
Bird fittingly opens up the session with the album’s opening track, “Sisyphus,” which sees Bird (on fiddle) and his band spacing out a bit in the intro. Bird switches to acoustic guitar before heading into the song proper and also delivers some of his patented whistling. After chatting about the album, Bird and company keep up the Greco theme with “Olympians” ahead of “Proxy War,” which sees Andrew doubling his plucked fiddle with more whistling.
