Goose Sports Jorts For Playing In The Sand Finale

112

Goose was one of the additional acts Dead & Company and CID Presents brought down to Mexico to perform at this year’s Playing In The Sand event. The Connecticut-based quartet played three sets, including a late-night performance at the event held at Moon Palace in Mexico on Saturday that saw the members of the band honor Bob Weir‘s 1980s fashion choices by each wearing jorts.

Saturday’s Goose set began with a “Flodown” opener and continued with a cover of Rupert Holmes’ Yacht Rock classic, “Escape (The Pina Colada Song).” The four-piece then played their own “Tumble” and worked original “Wysteria Lane” into “Echo Of A Rose.” Next up was a take on Talking Heads’ “Crosseyed & Painless” ahead of “Arcadia” and a “Madhuvan” that bled into a rendition of Van Morrison’s “Wild Night.” Then, “Creatures” was followed by a cover of “Don’t Do It” performed in the style of The Band. Goose closed out the set by pairing “Jive I” and “Jive Lee” and said farewell with a “Me & My Uncle” encore.
