The Chris Robinson fronted project Green Leaf Rustlers released a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “No Expectations.” The song will appear on the band’s upcoming live double LP debut, From Within Marin, out on March 6.

Green Leaf Rustlers — featuring an all-star cast including pedal steel player Barry Sless, bassist Pete Sears, drummer John Molo and guitarist Greg Loiacono — captured From Within Marin over several shows with the help of legendary recording engineer Betty Cantor Jackson. The record features a number of covers like JJ Cale’s “Ride Me High,” Arthur Crudup’s “That’s Alright Mama” and the aforementioned “No Expectations” from the Stones’ 1968 landmark album Beggars Banquet.

“To me, this live version of ‘No Expectations’ is all about Chris and his delivery,” Loiacono told Ultimate Classic Rock, who premiered the track. “He just sways so soulfully inside Molo and Pete’s deep pocket. It is so easy to feel.” Greg also spoke about Sless’ pedal steel on the tune. ”It’s awash in phaser, and his licks are all so good. There are a couple toward the end that made me laugh out loud with amazement.”
