Steve Martin & Steep Canyon Rangers Appear On ‘Colbert’

Actor/comedian/musician Steve Martin appeared on Wednesday’s episode The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Martin was interviewed by the program’s host Stephen Colbert and performed a song with Peter Asher and regular collaborators Steep Canyon Rangers.

Martin played banjo while backed by Steep Canyon Rangers on a rendition of their new single “California.” The two acts previously released the collaborative albums Rare Bird Alert in 2011 and The Long-Awaited Album in 2017.

Martin’s interview touched on a variety of topics including how he handles autograph seekers, his friendship with the members of Monty Python, his family’s love of Lil Nas X‘s hit “Old Town Road” and more.
