ALO kicked off the 2020 installment of their Tour D’Amour on Thursday night at The Big Room At Sierra Nevada Brewing Company in Chico, California. The quartet was joined by opener Ben Morrison of The Brothers Comatose for a Creedence Clearwater Revival cover as part of their set.
Last night’s ALO set began with a take on the Four Seasons’ “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night).” Next up was the now year-old “Get To Do It Again” ahead of classics “Speed Of Dreams” and “Blew Out The Walls.” Then, the four-piece performed “Ridin’” from their recently released Creatures, Vol. 2: Weave EP, which they worked into “Country Electro” as part of a segment that lasted nearly 20 minutes.
Multi-instrumentalist Zach Gill, bassist Steve Adams, guitarist Lebo (Dan Lebowitz) and drummer Ezra Lipp paired the debut of “Creatures” with “Roses & Clover” next before unveiling “Rewind.” Then, Ben Morrison emerged to perform CCR’s “Bad Moon Rising” with ALO. Creedence Clearwater Revival originally released “Bad Moon Rising” on 1969’s Green River. Last night’s set ended with the one-two punch of “Sugar On Your Tongue” and “Room For Bloomin’.” For the encore, ALO treated fans to a cover of Elton John’s “Bennie & The Jets,” oldie “Walls Of Jericho” and Lipp’s “Goodnight Song.”
