ALO Performs Rarities In Morro Bay

150

ALO‘s latest Tour D’Amour 2020 stop took place on Thursday at The Siren in Morro Bay, California. Keyboardist Zach Gill was back at full strength after losing his voice last weekend and played a medley of Madonna covers as part of last night’s concert.

New tune “Creatures” kicked off ALO’s set and was followed by oldies “IV” and “The Garden.” The quartet then played the recently debuted “Rewind” and dug deep into their repertoire for “Sounds Like This.” After “Walls Of Jericho,” Gill treated fans to a medley of Madonna tunes “Get Into The Groove” and “Lucky Star.” Next up were “Sugar On Your Tongue” and “Waiting For Jaden” before ALO welcomed Ben Morrison of The Brothers Comatose for a reprise of their collaboration on Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Rising.”

A big surprise came next in the form of obscurity “Celery Stalker.” The song had gone missing for years and led into a set-closing “Heroes” Gill dedicated to his daughter, Jaden. ALO encored with a version of “BBQ” that included covers of Huey Lewis & The News’ “The Power Of Love” and Peter Green’s “Black Magic Woman” within. Tour D’Amour continues on Friday night in the band’s hometown of Santa Barbara.
