Brandi Carlile Leads All-Star Ladies Of The ’80s Set At Girls Just Wanna Weekend 2020

The 2020 Brandi Carlile‘s Girls Just Wanna Weekend destination event came to a close with a special set on Saturday night. Lucius, Sheryl Crow, Lake Street Dive and Yola were among the acts backed by Carlile and her band for a Ladies Of The 80s tribute to end the second annual Girls Just Wanna Weekend in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

In fitting fashion, Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” kicked off the set featuring Lucius, who was also on hand for a cover of “9 To 5” by Dolly Parton. Next, Katie Herzig added to Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is A Place On Earth,” Ruby Amanfu led “Like A Prayer” by Madonna, Jade Bird helped on Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and Natalie Hemby sang “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John. Then, Crow belted out Katrina & The Waves’ “Walking On Sunshine” and “Don’t You Want Me” by The Human League.

The stage started to swell as Rita Wilson fronted Juice Newton’s “Angel Of The Morning” and KT Tunstall was among those who added to “I Love Rock & Roll” and Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time.” Carlile sang The Bangles’ “Eternal Flame” and Lake Street Dive delivered “Flashdance…What A Feeling” next before Yola stole the show with Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody” and Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).” Finally, Lucius returned for Heart’s “Alone” ahead of the “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” grand finale. The party then moved to the hot tub:
