Eddie Vedder Dedicates Song To Kobe Bryant & Family In Miami

106

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder played a private show for NetJets on Saturday night at Ice Palace Film Studios in Miami. The performance came as part of the company’s Super Bowl party and included a dedication to the late Kobe Bryant — who died the previous Sunday along with eight others in a helicopter crash — and his family.

Vedder kicked off his set with “Better Man” and followed with a cover of Warren Zevon’s “Keep Me In Your Heart.” Multiple reports indicate Eddie dedicated one of the two songs to the legendary basketball player and his family, though some indicate it was “Better Man” that was dedicated to the Bryants while others note it was “Keep Me In Your Heart.” The set also included such Pearl Jam classics as “Porch,” “Wishlist” and “Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town” as well as solo gems “Far Behind” and “Rise.” Additionally, Eddie Vedder performed covers of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down,” The Clash’s “Should I Stay Or Should I Go,” George Harrison’s “Isn’t It A Pity” and “Hard Sun” by Indio.
