Greensky Bluegrass Dusts Off ‘Take It Easy’ In Covington

116

Greensky Bluegrass busted out an Eagles cover on Tuesday night at the Madison Theater in Covington, Kentucky. The quintet performed “Take It Easy” for the first time in over four years last night.

An “All For Money” opener was followed by the first “Grow Bananas” in 20 shows. Then, GSBG delivered a run of “Can’t Stop Now,” “Last Winter In The Copper County” and “Runnin’ The Briars.” Next up was “Take It Easy,” which was last played on January 29, 2016 — a span of 411 shows — as per Phantasy Tour. “Take Cover” closed out the frame.

Last night’s second set began with the pairing of “Do Harm” and “Freeborn Man.” A take on “Freeborn Man” was followed by “Bottle Dry” and “Jaywalking.” Greensky Bluegrass then performed covers of Prince’s “When Doves Cry,” Charlie Poole’s “White House Blues” and Bill Monroe’s “I’m Working On A Building” before taking “Don’t Lie” deep to end the set. The five-piece offered up “Who Is Frederico?” as the evening’s encore.
