Hot 8 Brass Band stopped by KEXP studios in Seattle to perform for the radio station’s live music video series. The renowned New Orleans outfit offered up their own takes on soul classics and more.
Hot 8 kicked off the session with a second-line rendition of Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” followed by “Get Up.” After chatting a bit about second-line, appearing in a Spike Lee documentary and more, Hot 8 offer up their cover of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” before closing out the session with Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together.” Watch the entire performance below:
