Stephen Malkmus expanded his 2020 North American tour around his upcoming album Traditional Techniques out on March 6 via Matador. The singer-songwriter and guitarist also shared a live performance of new song “Brainwashed” via La Blogothèque.
In addition to his previously announced Midwest and East Coast engagements, Malkmus will also tour the West Coast and Southwest. The newly announced dates begin on June 26 in Vancouver followed by a run down the West Coast including Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. After a swing through the Southwest including Phoenix, Santa Fe and Dallas among others, the tour wraps up in Denver on July 11. Head here for ticket info.
Malkmus also further previewed Traditional Techniques with a live performance of “Brainwashed.” Directed by Thibaut Charlut and with sound direction by Henri d’Armancourt, the Paris café La Fontaine de Belleville acted as the setting for the solo acoustic performance as part of the Take Away Show series.
