Tenacious D kicked off their 2020 tour on Monday night at 3Arena in Dublin. Led by Jack Black and Kyle Gass, the band fit a debut cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” in their encore.
In similar fashion to 2018 and 2019 shows, The D began with performances of songs from Post-Apocalypto accompanied by animated videos that were released at the same time as the 2018 studio album. Then, Black and Gass fronted their backing ensemble on “greatest hits” including “Dude (I Totally Miss You),” “Wonderboy,” “Tribute” and “Double Team.” JB, KG and company opened the encore with “Jailbreak,” the title track of Dublin-based Thin Lizzy’s 1976 studio album. Tenacious D then ended the evening with “Fuck Her Gently.”
