The Black Crowes’ Chris & Rich Robinson Begin Acoustic Duo Tour

96

Chris Robinson & Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes opened their Brothers Of A Feather acoustic duo tour on Wednesday night at OMEARA in London. The pair focused on the Crowes’ most well-known material for the bulk of the set and also threw in a few deeper cuts before ending with a Little Feat cover.

Rich and Chris kicked off the show and tour with “Jealous Again” and “Twice As Hard,” the two tracks at the beginning of The Crowes’ 1990 debut album Shake Your Money Maker, in reverse order as they appear on the record. The Black Crowes will celebrate the 30th anniversary Shake Your Money Maker with an extensive international tour later this year. The Brothers Robinson then performed “Wiser Time” from Amorica together for the first time in over six years.

Last night’s concert continued with “Thorn In My Pride” off 1992’s The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, a Crowes album that would also be represented by “Hotel Illness” and “Remedy” on Wednesday. Next up was Three Snakes & One Charm gem “Good Friday” and “Horsehead” off 1999’s By Your Side. “Hotel Illness” was then followed by the newest songs of the night: “Whoa Mule” from 2008’s Warpaint and “So Many Times” from the most recent Black Crowes album, Before The Frost…Until The Freeze. Chris and Rich closed out the set with a run of “Soul Singing,” “She Talks To Angels” and “Remedy” before encoring with Little Feat’s “Willin’.” The pair returns to OMEARA on Thursday.
