The Roots will host the Roots Picnic 2020 on Saturday, May 30 at The Mann Center at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. The band confirmed the lineup of acts joining them at the 13th annual event.
The Roots Picnic 2020 lineup also features Meek Mill, Summer Walker, DaBaby, Snoh Aalegra, Burna Boy, Thundercat and others. According to the announcement, this year will see a “heavy emphasis on collaboration and creativity,” including a special The Roots Present SOUL set celebrating R&B music with guests Brandy, SWV and Musiq Soulchild. The Roots rapper Black Thought and J Period’s “Live Mixtape” will feature Griselda, and Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface and Raekwon. Also confirmed was the special set billed as Meshell Ndegeocello: Reimagining Prince and This Thing Called Life.
Along with music, Roots Picnic 2020 will also present a slate of live podcasts. A variety of presales for tickets are currently underway. General on sale begins Friday, February 14 at 12 p.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
