Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio shared pro-shot video featuring the Trey Anastasio Band‘s performance of “Dark & Down” from January 31 in New Orleans. The eight-minute “Dark & Down” came within the second set of TAB’s penultimate show of their 2020 winter tour.
Anastasio presented the live debut of “Dark & Down” with his 70 Volt Parade project on May 4, 2005. Trey went on to release a studio version of the song the following year on 18 Steps. “Dark & Down” is one of just a handful of tunes from the era that TAB still plays. The guitarist usually delivers a scorching solo to bring the song to a close and the version in New Orleans kept that trend going.
