Dead Winter Carpenters shared a new single, “Sinners ‘n’ Freaks” that includes a guest appearance by Jackie Greene on Hammond B3 organ. The song, which premieres exclusively below, serves as the title track to the band’s upcoming new EP set for release on April 24.

Dead Winter Carpenters co-produced Sinners ‘n’ Freaks with Matt Baxter, who recorded and mixed the sessions at his Ranch Recording facility in Auburn, California. The title track was written by the band’s guitarist/vocalist Jesse Dunn and telecaster slinger Nick Swimley.

“I think everyone has a little bit of sinner and a little bit freak in ‘em,” Dunn told JamBase. “This song speaks to that. You gotta let it all hang out and just be yourself. We tried to encapsulate that feeling in all it’s ragged glory.”

Dead Winter Carpenters consists of Dunn, Swimley, fiddler Jenni Charles, drummer Brendan Smith and bassist Jeremy Plog. The band enlisted Greene to add piano and Hammond B3 organ to “Sinners ‘n’ Freaks.”

“‘Sinners’ is a blues riff inspired jam in the vibe of Skynyrd on LSD,” Swimley said. “It has a loose live feel and good energy that we’ll look forward to playing live, and will take on a different shape each night.”
