Jason Isbell is featured in a new installment of Ernie Ball’s String Theory web series. Isbell chats about his history with the guitar, influences, songwriting and additional topics over the course of the 15-minute video.
The Alabama native is playing guitar throughout the video. Jason first speaks of his early days growing up outside of Muscle Shoals, how starting out as a guitarist helped his abilities as a songwriter and lessons he learned during his tenure in Drive-By Truckers. Isbell goes on to explain how his style came together, the gear that he uses, his quest to find the perfect tone and more.
