Legendary singer-songwriter John Prine has been hospitalized and is in critical condition. A note shared on Prine’s social feeds explains the 73-year-old artist entered the hospital on Thursday after “a sudden onset of Covid-19 symptoms.” The situation has become worse as the Illinois native was intubated last night.
The news of John’s condition comes after his wife, Fiona, revealed on Tuesday she was diagnosed with the coronavirus COVID-19. “I have some of the typical symptoms. I didn’t have a high fever, but I certainly had a cough and some breathlessness,” Fiona explained at the time. “John, however, was also tested and his came back ‘indeterminate.’” The pair isolated from each other and both quarantined. John Prine has dealt with numerous health issues in recent years.

After a sudden onset of Covid-19 symptoms, John was hospitalized on Thursday (3/26). He was intubated Saturday evening, and continues to receive care, but his situation is critical.
