Pearl Jam & Abramorama Announce ‘Gigaton’ Listening Experience In Dolby Atmos

Pearl Jam and film distributor Abramorama announced the Gigaton Listening Experience on March 25 in theaters around the world. The event will feature a playback of Pearl Jam’s upcoming album, Gigaton, in the cutting edge Dolby Atmos audio format two days before its wider release.

“It’s truly a unique way to experience this album,” Gigaton producer Josh Evans said in a statement. “I’m excited for fans to be able to immerse themselves in the sound and to hear the depth and layers of these songs and performances.”

The Gigaton Listening Experience will also feature visuals created by Evolve, the same filmmaker behind the video for Gigaton single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants.”

Abramorama — who handled the Martin Scorsese-directed Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip — and Pearl Jam have a long history together with the former distributing the band’s concert films Immagine in Cornice (2007) and Let’s Play Two (2017), both directed by Danny Clinch, as well as the 2011 Cameron Crowe-directed Pearl Jam Twenty.

“We are honored that Pearl Jam has entrusted us – for the fourth time – to help present their new record Gigaton to fans around the world,” Abramorama’s Head of Music Evan Saxon and CEO Richard Abramowitz related in a statement. “Hearing Gigaton in theaters equipped with Dolby Atmos sound, along with the amazing images that will be on screen, will be a gamechanger and give fans an experience unlike any other.”
