Grenade Jumper’s new single ‘HEAT WAVE’ is a brilliant pop punk pump up tune, combining a fast and fun beat with that signature pop punk melody and it’s just *chef’s kiss*.
The single is premiering on Music Feeds today. The high energy feeling throughout the song is reminiscent of Melbourne outfit Between You & Me while the melodies throughout would delight the heck out of any Trophy Eyes fan.
Grenade Jumper are no strangers to creating an anthemic tune, proven by their previous two singles ‘Gazed’ and ‘Get Ahead’.
The single ‘HEAT WAVE’ is a cry for empowerment. With lyrics like, “I’m on the right path, so take a step back” and “And now, I’m taking back every part of me”.
“The song is a celebration of hope and acceptance, and we really aimed to reciprocate that brightness in the instrumental,” said front woman, Bianca Davino.
“We wanted to capture that pummelling alt-rock energy and anthemic punk quality in the track, and marry it with a video that roars with the same fire. We see this song as a real statement on who we are as a band and as people.”
Grenade Jumper has shared a new video for the single as well. Directed by Billy Zammit, the video sees the band give a high-energy performance of the new single. The room’s orangey-redness intensifies with the last breakdown — you can catch it on Friday.
‘HEAT WAVE’ is out officially on Friday, 20th March. You can pre-save it here.
