The custom 1970 Dodge Charger R/T that Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto whips through corners in the Fast and Furious franchise is the latest rad ride to get the Lego Technic treatment.
The 1:13-scale replica of the Hollywood hot rod boasts miniaturized versions of the same components seen in the movies, including a supercharged V8 with moving pistons, double wishbone suspension, wheelie bar, and nitrous oxide boost canisters in the trunk.
Lego’s Technic—the modular toy brand’s advanced model line—previously featured 3,599-piece Bugatti Chiron and 1,295-piece Aston Martin DB5 kits.
With 1,077 pieces, the relatively simple Dodge Charger kit is recommended for ages 10 and up, making it a great option for a father-son bonding activity during, say, a seemingly never-ending coronavirus quarantine.
The last F&F installment to feature the pony car was Furious 7. And with the release of Fast 9 postponed until April 2, 2021 due to the current global pandemic, fans will have to wait a full year to see if the Charger makes a reprisal. In the meantime, we’re sure Diesel will be driving his 1,650-horsepower Charger restomod by Speedkore Performance.
The Lego Technic “Dom’s Dodge Charger” is available to preorder online for $99.99 before shipments begin on April 27.
