The Black Crowes’ Chris & Rich Robinson Discuss Reunion On ‘CBS This Morning’

107

Chris Robinson and Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes talked about their early days, success, frequent fights and recent reunion with journalist Anthony Mason on a recent episode of CBS This Morning. The pair spoke with Mason in New York City where they in town to perform at the Love Rocks NYC benefit at The Beacon Theatre.

The interview comes as the Brothers Robinson plan to hit the road in June for a Black Crowes reunion tour in which they’ll be backed by a new lineup of musicians. Chris and Rich will lead the band in performing The Black Crowes’ debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, in its entirety to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the LP. The massive success of Shake Your Money Maker was among the topics the Robinson Brothers discussed with Mason. “When we left home when the record was coming out we basically had one carry-on bag,” said Chris. “Twelve months later it’s like, ‘Oh! We can buy houses and cars.’”

Mason’s profile starts with a discussion of how the pair reunited after a seven-year feud. Chris and Rich explained the first time they saw each other after seven years was randomly at a New York City hotel. They now are doing things they’ve never done before like giving joint interviews and sitting next to each other on airplanes.

As for the fighting both Robinson Brothers take credit for what went down. “He can be aggressive and I can be really passive aggressive,” Rich said. “And while Rich is like that I’m out of my mind! I’m out of my mind and then you add drugs and alcohol to it and I’m really cooking with gas,” added Chris. Watch the profile below:
