Much has changed in the world of Goose since the band last released an album. Moon Cabin a studio LP issued in 2016 features a different lineup and one that doesn’t include multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach. While the wait continues for a new studio album, today the quartet unveiled their first official live album — Alive & Well.
Alive & Well is available now via digital services for streaming and downloading. In addition, fans can purchase a vinyl package that includes 4-LP 180g vinyl accompanied by a full-color fold-out poster, a 32-page photo book documenting the band on and off stage between last summer and this past winter as well as a digital download code.
“It’s about gratitude,” guitarist Rick Mitarotonda said in a statement of Alive & Well which contains tracks recorded in 2019. “We’re grateful to be able to be out here doing what we’ve always wanted to do. It’s for all the people we’ve known and loved and that may not be alive and well now. And it’s embracing the power of mental projection. Acknowledging that you are, or are choosing to be alive and well even when things aren’t easy.” All nine tracks are originals and four are at least 16 minutes, with two surpassing the 20-minute-mark, to show that this jam band does indeed jam.
