Tuesday’s installment of I So Lounging hosted by Amanda Shires included a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.” Shires, along with her husband, Jason Isbell and guitarist Seth Plemmons performed the classic rock radio staple at the end of the episode.
Yesterday’s I So Lounging began with Isbell singing in falsetto before Shires cut him off to formally start the episode. Amanda then led the crew on “White Feather,” a song from her 2018 studio album To The Sunset, following a false start. The musicians then discussed life under quarantine, including Shires’ teeth-brushing skills. Amanda and company continued on with another song from To The Sunset, “Charms.”
Shires and Isbell went on to promote MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund and Amanda acknowledged she’d be giving part of “tips” received to her band mates. Jason then was backed by Amanda and Seth on Southeastern track “Traveling Alone.” The trio ended Tuesday’s I So Lounging with a gorgeous rendition of “Wish You Were Here,” the title track from Pink Floyd’s 1975 studio album.
