If you’re still spewing about My Chemical Romance‘s return to Australia for Download Festival being cancelled due to COVID-19, well we’ve got something to ease the pain.
Frontman Gerard Way has uploaded four rough cuts of unreleased solo tunes to SoundCloud, with the uploads following recent speculation that MCR could be set to drop new music soon.
The uploads came with a statement from Way on his Instagram, which explained that he felt the need to share music during uncertain times.
“Hey all, with all this uncertainty I just wanted to start uploading some unreleased stuff. Just so people can check it out and have something to listen to,” he wrote.
The tunes are titled as follows; ”Welcome To The Hotel’, ‘Success!’ ‘Crate Amp_2’ and ‘Phone It In (2) VOC’.
“I’m calling all of this stuff Distraction Or Despair, since that seems to be the two things I keep shifting between. Probably a lot of other people too,” he continued on Instagram.
“I’m just winging it, keeping it casual.”
In addition, the post included a photo of Way’s vocal chords.
Hopefully this is a sign that the band are working on music too.
MCR’s last studio single came in 2014 with ‘Fake Your Death’ on the band’s greatest hits compilation titled May Death Never Stop You.
