168

The Avett Brothers performed a drive-in style concert at Charlotte Motor Speedway in their home state of North Carolina on Saturday. The band delivered a 26-song set which included a live debut.

The Avetts kicked things off with “Ain’t No Man,” the opening track on their critically acclaimed 2016 album, True Sadness. The band then delivered some vintage material in “Denouncing November Blue (Uneasy Writer)” from their 2006 album Four Thieves Gone – The Robbinsville Sessions as well as “Living Of Love” and “Go To Sleep” from their 2007 album Emotionalism. The Avetts then delivered “Victory” from their recently released 2020 album The Third Gleam before heading back to Emotionalism with “I Wish I Was.” “Distraction #74,” “Will You Return?” and “Shame,” came ahead of “High Steppin’” from their 2019 LP Closer Than Together followed by the title track to their 2009 major label debut, I and Love and You.

The Avett Brothers then debuted the Closer Than Together track “Locked Up,” as per SetlistFM. Next, the band returned to their Gleam series with The Second Gleam’s “Murder In The City” and “Untitled #4” from The Third Gleam. “In the Curve,” “I Go to My Heart” and “Paranoia in B-Flat Major” came ahead of “Live and Die” from the band’s 2012 album The Carpenter. “Satan Pulls The Strings,” “Laundry Room,” “The Fall,” “We Americans,” “Pretty Girl From Matthews” and “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise” would take The Avett Brothers to the show closer, “No Hard Feelings.”
