AC/DC shared an image on social media today teasing new music and confirming the legendary rock band’s latest lineup. Longtime members vocalist Brian Johnson, drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams have each returned to the fold after previously departing the band, each under different circumstances.
Lead guitarist Angus Young and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young join Johnson, Rudd and Williams in the latest incarnation of AC/DC. Brian Johnson left the band due to hearing issues in 2016 and was replaced by Axl Rose for the final 22 shows of their last outing, the Rock Or Bust World Tour. Cliff Williams announced his retirement when the tour concluded but seems to have changed his mind, while Phil Rudd was replaced by Chris Slade while the drummer dealt with legal issues.
The image shared by AC/DC is accompanied by the caption, “ARE YOU READY? #PWRUP.” AC/DC reportedly recorded a new studio album with their latest lineup and it’s possible the image is the cover art and “PWR UP” or “Power Up” is its title.
