‘Dave Grohl Meets Brian Johnson’ Documentary To Air Later This Month

187

It sounds like a Flintstones meet The Jetsons crossover, but the documentary Dave Grohl Meets Brian Johnson is definitely real. The film, set to air September 17th on Sky Arts, will see the longtime AC/DC singer discussing life on the road with the Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer.

Johnson is certainly no stranger to the small screen, as his interview show Brian Johnson’s A Life on the Road is preparing for its third season on AXS TV. The syndicated program features Johnson discussing the music business with artists while on tours of their careers from the comfort of a limousine, featuring guests including Robert Plant, Dolly Parton, Roger Daltrey, and many more.

Dave Grohl Meets Brian Johnson will feature the Australian-born singer traveling to Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, CA for a candid discussion of life as world-famous rock musicians. While details of the conversations are not yet known, the chat is sure to be lively. An official synopsis of the film reads, “It’s a meeting of rock legends as AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson meets FOO FIGHTERS lead singer and former NIRVANA drummer Dave Grohl at the Foos’ LA studio to share stories about life on the road.”

The premiere of the film also comes just before Sky Arts becomes free-to-air later this month. Sky Arts director Philip Edgar-Jones said of the transition,

There’s never been a stronger need or demand for the arts, nor a more important time to champion and celebrate creativity. That’s why we’re throwing open the doors to make Sky Arts a free channel. During lockdown, we’ve seen audiences to the channel increase by 50 percent and our weekly live paint-along show, ‘Portrait Artist Of The Week’, reached 4.6 million people with over 20,000 portraits painted.

As a free to air channel, I hope that Sky Arts can help arts organizations and cultural institutions of all shapes and sizes across the U.K., providing them with a platform to create and showcase their work to a broad audience.
