A forthcoming documentary on Harry Chapin will explore the life and career of the acclaimed musician from the singer-songwriter era, in addition to his philanthropic work in fighting world hunger when Chapin: When In Doubt, Do Something arrives next month on October 16th.
The film’s official announcement and trailer release this week preview the forthcoming documentary on the late musician, which was directed by Rick Korn and to be released by Greenwich Entertainment. The film will feature new interviews with his family, along with Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Pat Benatar, Pete Seeger, Kenny Rogers, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Bob Geldof, Ken Kragen, longtime bassist John Wallace, and more.
In addition to focusing on the commercial success of his music career–which included hit singles in “Taxi”, “W.O.L.D.”, and “Cat’s In The Cradle”–When In Doubt, Do Something will also shine a light on Chapin’s humanitarian mission to give back and co-founding WhyHunger in 1975. It was Chapin’s dedication to philanthropic work which led to the late musician being posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal following his death at the age of 38 in July 1983.
