Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon Performs New Song ‘Your Honor’ In Tribute To Ruth Bader Ginsburg

108

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon debuted a new song, “Your Honor,” which was written in response to the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The premiere came as part of the Eaux Claires festival’s “A Visit With Vernon” campaign.

Vernon held a conference in his hometown of Eaux Claire, Wisconsin with on-the-fence voters named Benny and Eric. After discussing the importance of voting, Vernon picked up an electric guitar and with a mask covering his face, debuted his tribute to Ginsburg, who died on September 18 at age 87.

“I kinda wrote it right after we heard about Ruth Bader Ginsburg passing,” Vernon told Benny and Eric. “She just opened so many doors for so many people that people don’t even understand or realize. And her service to the nation, I think, is somehow still underestimated.”
