Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Kick Off ‘Time To Drive-In’ Fall Tour 2020

70

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong began their “Time To Drive-In” Fall Tour 2020 on Saturday night. The band performed two sets before a socially distanced audience at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio.

After guitarist Greg Ormont addressed the crowd, PPPP opened the first set with “Havana.” They then called upon “Julia,” which went unfinished before transitioning into “White Night.” The funky “King Kong” came next, as they segued into a cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” before a Ben Carrey bass solo steered them back to finish “King Kong.” The rest of the set featured “Lowdown,” and a sequence of “Kiwi” into “Time To Ride” followed by a return into the end of “Julia.”

“Henrietta” got Pigeons going to start set two as guitarist Jeremy Schon took charge with a blistering solo. The band then selected their new original “Weightless,” which debuted earlier this year, taking the new tune into “Fade Fast” that they wrapped around the “Knight Rider Theme.” The foursome then worked up “Avalanche” and went aquatic with “Water” and “Poseidon,” eventually landing on “Snake Eyes” for the set closer. Ormont, Carrey, Schon and drummer Alex Petropulos chose “Doc” for the evening’s encore.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s “Time To Drive-In” Fall Tour 2020 continues with shows in Morris, Connecticut on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10. Watch the full concert from Saturday night in Ohio below:
