The Disco Biscuits‘ upcoming run of drive-in concerts will be featured in pay-per-view livestreams available for purchase via CouchTour.tv. All 10 shows will be broadcast live with a discount in store for those who buy all 10 webcasts.
Couchtour.tv was founded by tDB guitarist Jon Gutwillig. “It’s tough – if not impossible – for people to get to any kind of public gatherings these days – the Disco Biscuits are grateful as a band that we were able to play these upcoming shows, but with just a handful of shows on the board many of our fans still won’t get the chance to see us perform live they like typically have in the past,” said Barber in a statement. “Couchtour.tv wasn’t a new idea, but time that would have otherwise been spent on the road opened up the space to finally bring Couchtour.tv to fruition. We’ve got a great team working on this, but it’s still gonna’ be a few months before we can roll this out in its complete form – bells, whistles and all – then it’ll be available wherever fans go to get their apps.”
A portion of proceeds will go towards HeadCount.org. The Disco Biscuits kick off the run tomorrow, Friday, October 16 with the first of four shows at the Yarmouth Drive-In in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. From there, the band hits Scranton, Pennsylvania on October 23 and 24; Frederick, Maryland on October 25 and LaFayette, New York October 29 – 31.
