The Flaming Lips delivered an NPR Music Tiny Desk (Home) Concert. The psychedelic rockers performed songs from their 2020 album, American Head, and more.
Encased in their iconic, human-sized bubbles — which as NPR Music’s Bob Boilen pointed out, now seems like more of a necessity than a novel production choice — The Flaming Lips kick off their Tiny Desk (Home) Concert with the opening track to American Head, “Will You Return/When You Come Down” followed by “God And The Policeman.” Wayne Coyne (read JamBase’s recent interview with Coyne here) and company then harken back to older material beginning with “Be Free, A Way” from their 2013 album, The Terror. The band closes out the session with “It’s Summertime” from their landmark 2002 LP, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots.
