Tedeschi Trucks Band lead singer, guitarist Susan Tedeschi, celebrates her birthday today. The Boston-area native and current Jacksonville, Florida resident is respected and revered by fans and fellow musicians alike. Whether performing alongside her husband, guitarist Derek Trucks, or in other stage or studio settings, Tedeschi’s powerful vocals and evocative guitar style exemplify her talents as a performer.

To celebrate Susan’s birthday today, here’s a look back at five memorable collaborations she’s participated in over the course of her successful career. The videos presented below showcase Tedeschi in number of different settings acting at times as a special guest and others as a gracious host.

First up is studio footage from the recording of Herbie Hancock’s 2010 Imagine Project album. Susan, Derek, Oteil Burbridge and others can be seen with the renowned pianist tracking the song “Space Captain,” which Joe Cocker popularize. Check out the session below:

The wife/husband duo were also the special guests of legendary bluesman B.B. King during a concert at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London on June 28, 2011. The banter-filled sit-in saw a lively back-and-forth between The King Of The Blues and Susan. The trio of guitarists produced a rendition of “Rock Me Baby” that can be seen here:

Tedeschi and Trucks were the guests of The Black Crowes during the encore of the show held at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, GA on July 20, 2013. Frontman Chris Robinson teamed with the pair of guests on a rendition of the Joe Tex tune “Show Me.” Here’s how the collab went down:

The late great Sharon Jones toured with The Dap-Kings as part of TTB’s 2015 Wheels Of Soul Tour. This clip features Jones joining the group for a take on Etta James’ classic “Tell Mama” during a show on June 9, 2015. Watch Susan and Sharon teaming up below:

In 2016, Bonnie Raitt (who celebrated a birthday yesterday) joined Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Holland International Blues Festival in The Netherlands. Raitt added acoustic guitar and shared vocals with Tedeschi on a rendition of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery,” which has long been a staple of both performers’ repertoires.
