It’s been a minute but 3OH!3 are back and they’ve brought 100 gecs with them for ‘LONELY MACHINES’. And, as could be expected it’ s an absolutely chaotic banger.
The track marries that electronic sound 3OH!3 gave us back in 2007 with 100 gecs’ genre-melding sound.
The new single comes with a music video too. It sees the classic 100 gecs wizard cloaks, a dollhouse, an obsession with a CD, all with some home robbery thrown into the mix.
In a press release, the duo’s Sean Foreman said, “If you start to google ‘is 3OH!3…’ it autofills to ‘still together?”
“Well, it’s about time we answer that question with a resounding “um… well… we never really… um… YES!!!”
“About a year ago, Nat and I found ourselves unsigned, unmanaged and frankly, under no pressure to just create and have fun—so we did just that,” he continues.
“Magically, as we started to write, we got in touch with Matt Galle and partnered with Photo Finish [Records]. The creative energy and motivation that we had for our first album felt recaptured. It just feels good again; unforced. And I believe the new music is a representation of that freedom.”
The last taste of 3OH!3 we heard was their 2016 album NIGHT SPORTS. 100 gecs’ last release was their remix album 1000 gecs & The Tree Of Clues earlier this year.
