Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy was among the guests on Monday’s Late Night With Seth Meyers. Jeff talked with host Seth Meyers via a video chat and then offered a remote performance of “Gwendolyn” backed by his solo band.
Seth Meyers was among the many celebrities who appeared in Jeff’s video for “Gwendolyn,” a track featured on the recently released Love Is King LP. Meyers spoke with Tweedy about how Jeff came up with the idea for the video. The discussion then turned to Love Is King and how Jeff collaborated with his sons — Spencer Tweedy and Sammy Tweedy — on the album.
The pair went on to discuss How To Write One Song, a book penned by Jeff Tweedy that came out last month. Jeff explained how inspiration can come in many forms. Finally, Seth asked Jeff about his experience attending the Grammys for the first time. Tweedy revealed his most notable encounter was with Sean “P Diddy” Combs, who thought the Wilco frontman was an usher.
